CARE National Conference

Challenge: create an educational and inspirational three-day conference to inspire grassroots advocates to meet with their Members of Congress in order to advocate for CARE’s global development work.

Solution: an annual conference now in its 19th convening that brings together volunteer advocates across all 50 states and over 40 countries to display CARE’s life-saving work, teach “Advocacy 101,” and meet with Members of Congress on Capitol Hill.

The leading international humanitarian and development organization CARE hosts the CARE National Conference (CNC), convening more than 500 citizen advocates, corporate partners, and global development experts at George Washington University for three days of inspiration, learning and advocacy on behalf of poor women and girls worldwide.

Key speakers at the conference have included: Secretary Hillary Clinton, President Barak Obama, Attorney General Sally Yates, President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf, former President of Liberia and Nobel Laureate; Helene Cooper, Pentagon Correspondent for the New York Times, as well as CARE Ambassadors: Bellamy Young, “Scandal” actress; Holland Roden, “Teen Wolf” actress; Danielle Savre, “Station 19” actress, José Andrés, Chef and Founder of World Central Kitchen, Michèle Flournoy, former Under Secretary of Defense and co-founder of WestExecAdvisors, Ambassador Dina Kawar of Jordan; and former Sen. Sam Nunn, Chairman and Founder of the Nuclear Threat Initiative.

The CARE National Conference has been sponsored by Delta, UPS, DOVE® Chocolate, Cargill, P&G, MARS, the Coca Cola Company and Abbott.
